HLPAE is a State-Approved GED® Test Center and is an approved Pearson VUE computerized testing center.
Eligibility of Candidates to Take the GED® Tests
• Be 18 years of age or older, or within 60 days of his/her 18th birthday (regardless of school enrollment status).
• Be a resident of the state.
• Only persons who do not hold a standard high school diploma are eligible to take the GED® Tests.
• Have current valid identification card which includes the examinee's name, date of birth, photograph, address and
signature. Acceptable identification includes:
a. Driver's license or identification card issued by the DMV.
b. Identification card issued by the military.
c. I.D. card or Passport issued by U.S. or foreign governments.
If CA address not on ID, then need proof of CA
address (utility bill, paycheck stub, etc.)
d. Identification card issued by post-secondary schools.
Pre-Registration
1. All GED® candidates must pre-register in Willow Center, Room 112 in advance of taking the GED® test battery.
If pre-registration has not occurred, candidates will not be able to take the GED® test. Walk-ins are not accepted.

b. Pre-Registration Day and Times: Wednesday 10:00 am & 2:00 pm.
2. Pre-Registration is administered as a group.
It includes the following:
a. Payment of fee - 10 minutes
b. ID verification - 2 minutes
c. HLPAE Registration form - 15 minutes
d. Demographic form - 30-45 minutes
e. Code of Conduct/Sign of release form - 2 minutes
f. Viewing of Mathematics video - 15-20 minutes

What time does the Pre-Registration start?
You must attend both Pre-Registration dates that begin at 9:00 A.M. Please be on time.

Cash/Money Order is only payment accepted.
What is the Pre-Registration Process? Do I need an appointment?
Pre-Registration is administered as a group in two parts. On the first day please plan on staying at least 3 hours.On the first day, it includes the following:
1. ID verification
2. HLPAE Registration form
3. Demographic/Answer Sheets
4. Code of Conduct/Sign of release form
5. Viewing of Mathematics video
6. GED® Workshop/Study Skills
On the second day, please plan to stay at least two hours. It includes:
1. Payment of fee
2. Review of GED® Study Skills

Test Preparation/GED®
Test Preparation/GED® is a course designed to assist students in acquiring the skills necessary to pass all five sections of the General Educational Development (GED®) Test.

• Test Fee: $120, Cash Only! (Checks are not accepted.)
• Retest Fees: $25 each content area retest. (Available only for students who took the original test with HLPAE.)
• No refund on GED® test fees.
