• A minimum of 60 hours of attendance is required for each 5 credit
course.
• Students must pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

Independent Study
Are you an adult who wants to earn a California High School Diploma but can’t attend a regularly scheduled class and can study independently? Students will have the flexibility to take the course assignments off campus and study at home. Must be able to attend Tuesday or Thursday morning.

A $50 cash deposit for textbook is the responsibility of the student and is refundable upon completion of the coursework, or if the student drops the program.

HOW TO ENROLL
1. To enroll in Independent Study after you take the CASAS assessment:
a. Meet with the counselor to register for classes based on previous high school transcript.
b. Fill out an Independent Study contract.
c. Go to the Dibble Main Office to pay the $50 fee.
2. Meet with the teacher a minimum of once a week to take tests and receive homework assignments. |
Concurrent High School Students
• Students must be enrolled in their HLPUSD home high school to be eligible to attend Adult Education classes.
• Students may only be referred for failed courses or deficiency in credits.
• Students must see their High School Counselor and then an Adult School Counselor prior to beginning any course.
• An expected date of completion will be assigned upon enrollment (12 weeks).
To enroll, students must have the following items when meeting with an Adult School Counselor:
• Hacienda La Puente Adult Education Parent Consent/Student Referral Form signed by parent, counselor,
and student
• Most current Picture I.D.
Wednesday, March 13, 2013:
Last day for concurrent seniors to enroll (each referral form is an enrollment) in Adult Education classes to make up fails or deficiencies for the 2012 - 2013 school year. No referral forms will be accepted after March 13, 2013.
Wednesday, May 8, 2013:
Final day for enrolled seniors to have all coursework and hours completed.
Wilson, Stimson, Valley, and Los Altos High School students may enroll in high school subjects at Dibble Campus.
La Puente, Workman, and Valley High School students may enroll in high school subjects at Hudson Learning Center.
Foreign Language and Math offered at the Dibble Campus only.
